MUSIC
A jazz triple-header
Once upon a time, a jazz concert was a multi-event. I remember seeing Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Cecil Taylor and Budd Johnson, a burry-toned tenor player, on a single bill in New York in the early '70s. That sort of thing doesn't happen much anymore. But Sunday afternoon at the Little Fox in Redwood City, the old format makes a comeback with "When Worlds Collide," a triple-header of a show featuring the restlessly innovative trumpeter John Worley and Bari Bari (his group with three baritone saxophonists and a hot rhythm section); guitarist Rick Vandivier, whose playing spans bebop and Hendrix, with his band; and the exceptional baritone saxophonist Aaron Lington (also a member of Bari Bari) with his own quintet. 4 p.m. Sunday; Little Fox, 2215 Broadway, Redwood City; $20, $18 advance; (650) FOX-4119, r www.foxdream.com.
